When warm weather finally hits, you probably find that you have better things to be doing than standing in front of your mirror layering products on your face. We hope, anyway. Not that we’re here to judge. Do note that we consider walking to the 7/11 for a sour cherry slurpee one of those “better things to be doing.”

Most days in the summer we try to get from out-of-the-shower to out-of-the-house as quickly as possible. That means we rely on some of our favorite products to pull double-duty for us.

Moisturizer and sunscreen

This is one of our favorite combos. For day-to-day use year round we rely on Dead Sea Premier’s Day Cream Complex, a super hydrating cream with built-in sun protection. If we require a little more SPF for those sunny summer days, we simply squirt some facial sunblock in with our moisturizer and apply it all at the same time. You can do the same thing with body lotion and body sunblock.

Primer and fine line filler

We got back and forth on whether or not we even like primer, but if you’ve got some fine lines you’re looking to disguise, an oil-free primer applied after your moisturizer but before your makeup will help fill in those fine lines and shallower wrinkles. The trick here is to dab your makeup overtop on those areas. Swiping it on will drag the primer out of place.

Cheek and lip stain

We know some products are packaged as both cheek and lip stain, and that’s excellent. But you know what we’ve found? Our regular old cheek stain does an awesome job on our lips even though that’s not what it’s intended for. We simply dab it over our lips using our ring finger, and then top it with gloss or balm for a bit of shine and hydration. The color easily holds through the workday.
